Program

How to create a Plan of Care

Caregiving is a noble, compassionate role — but it can also be emotionally and physically draining. Our program gives you the tools, knowledge, and strategies to understand, prevent, and cope with caregiver burnout, so you don't neglect yourself while caring for someone else.

Information about the product and our services

SHS&S provides a non-medical, 4-week online training program. As a professional caregiver who understands caregivers' needs, I deliberately designed the program to give the average caregiver — unable to receive help through professional agencies — some of the must-have tools used daily to care for 3+ clients in a residential home. Our services are non-traditional. Yet they are not designed to duplicate or replace the services of professional agencies.

We are not a home healthcare agency that provides hands-on or bedside services. Our 4-week training program and courses are online. The program was specifically designed for busy caregivers with limited time who are overwhelmed and suffering from burnout, working non-stop without support. The training is downloadable material in PDF format with accompanying videos, easily accessible to work around the busy lives of these caregivers.

The 3-part system

eBook → online training → ongoing coaching

Part 1

The eBook

Our introductory eBook, How to End Caregiver Burnout, explains the causes of caregiver burnout, who we are, what we do, and why every caregiver needs a Plan of Care in place before starting caregiving — with proven strategies and professional tips to help you take control of your caregiving journey.

Part 2

Online training courses

We help you build a Personalized Plan of Care — what we call a Holistic Support Plan (HSP) — designed to meet the needs of both the care recipient and you, the caregiver. It includes a medical profile, daily-care instructions, and a plan for bringing in consistent additional caregivers.

Part 3

Caregiver coaching

An ongoing monthly coaching and mentoring service, with additional tools, training, and small-group mentorship so caregivers can support one another over time — not just during the initial 4–6 weeks.

Why the cost works

About a quarter of one month's agency care

The median hourly rate for professional caregiving in the U.S. is roughly $31–$35, according to seniorliving.org. Our one-time program cost is designed to come in at about a quarter of the monthly cost of hiring that kind of ongoing support — because caregivers suffering from burnout often can't afford agency help at all.
